Pho Viet 1
18741 Soledad Canyon Road

It was raining in Santa Clarita.
Which meant our original plans were cancelled and the search for something warm began.
We didn’t want anything complicated.
We wanted hot food. Comforting food. The kind of food that makes staying inside feel like the better plan.
So, we ordered takeaway from Pho Viet 1.
My partner and I shared two dishes:
39. Com Tam Thit Heo Nuong, featuring grilled pork with rice, carrot, cucumber and cabbage, with vinegar on the side.
22. Pho Tai Chin, a Vietnamese beef noodle soup with onion, green onion and cilantro.
The broth came separately from the beef, noodles and garnishes, ready to combine at home.
Basically, dinner with some light assembly required.
THE REASON WE KEEP COMING BACK
We’ve ordered from Pho Viet 1 a few times.
And the broth is always the reason.
It tastes clean, delicious and comforting without feeling too heavy.
Exactly what we wanted on a wet day.
Our only reservation on previous visits had been the amount of meat. The portions occasionally felt a little light, so my partner added extra beef to the pho this time.
A decision we fully supported.
And this time, both dishes delivered.
The grilled pork portion was satisfying, while the extra beef gave the pho the balance we had been looking for.
Plenty of meat.
Plenty of noodles.
And that broth doing what it always does.
THE VERDICT
This was our best Pho Viet 1 takeaway so far.
The grilled pork held its own, the extra beef made a noticeable difference, and the broth remained the star.
Would we order it again the next time it rains?
Absolutely.
Although we probably won’t wait for the weather.
